ROUGH DRAFT OF

16 GRIEVANCES AGAINST PRESIDENT GEORGE W. BUSH

Drafted by W. Joshua Byatt

We, the people, of the United States of America, after having entrusted the Office of the Presidency to Mr. George W. Bush, and after having endured a number of years of that Presidency with good will, faith, and trust, do hereby draft this list of grievances against Mr. Bush and his Presidential Administration.

ENUMERATION:

For the following grievances, we respectfully request the immediate and direct IMPEACHMENT, CONVICTION, RESIGNATION, or REPLACEMENT of Mr. Bush:

The Administration has, without any declaration of war, invaded and waged war against, primarily, the nations of Afghanistan and Iraq. Neither nation was directly involved in a military attack against the United States, and neither nation declared war on the United States. The United States overthrew the standing governments of both nations, and has continued to hold military occupation over both nations, at the orders of the Administration.

The Administration continues to wage war against the nations of Iraq and Afghanistan despite disapproval of the wars by the American people.

Due to the aggressive and warring actions of the Administration, the majority of the foreign public and many foreign governments have withdrawn support of American ideals and perceive American and her people to be violent, aggressive, and war-mongering.

The Administration has deployed American National Guard soldiers into Iraq and Afghanistan in order to hold a military occupation. The National Guard’s purpose is to defend and protect sovereign American territory, not foreign territory held under American occupation.

The Administration entered a war against the nation of Iraq despite strong disapproval from the United Nations and in direct opposition to the ideals of the United Nations, to which the United States belongs.

The Administration invaded the sovereign nation of Iraq claiming all of the following, each of which has been shown to be false since the invasion:

Following the terrorist attacks on American soil of September 11, 2001, the Administration used the pain and suffering of the American people to invade Afghanistand and, subsequently, Iraq, invoking the cause of National Security.

The Department of Homeland Security, along with the National Security Agency, have monitored American phone logs, email transactions, and banking information without warrant or due process, at the orders of the Administration.

An executive order signed on July 17, 2007 violates the American constitution by failing to abide by the Fourth Amendment, which protects Americans from unfair search and seizure.

During this Presidency, both the USA Patriot Act and the Emergency Health Powers Act have been passed, which give the Federal Government unprecedented and unconstitutional power to search, seize, arrest, and hold without bail or charges American citizens

The President was not elected by a popular majority for his first term and fewer than a third of Americans agree with the Administrations actions and decisions.

The Administration has forced the early retirement of multiple outspoken Generals with veteran experience.

The President and his Administration have created severe friction and division across party lines, polarizing the American people and disrupting national unity,

The President and Administration have continued to wage war without noticeable progress in Iraq, they failed to enter with proper planning, the United States holds the nation of Iraq without any exit plan, and the war has caused the early resignation of two separate Secretaries of Defense, still without progress.

The Administration has violated American ideals of liberty and justice through the enforcement and enactment of the USA Patriot and Emergency Health Powers Acts. It has violated the American ideal of unity by polarizing the American people. It has violated the American ideal of a meritocracy by the appointment of personal friends to Federal positions. It has violated the American ideal of Federalism by the creation and empowerment of the Department of Homeland Security, along with numerous Executive Orders that consolidate Government power with the Federal government. It has violated the American ideal of Separation of Power by same creation and empowerment of the Department of Homeland Security and Executive Orders, consolidating Government power with the Executive branch of the Federal government.
